Maintaining quality dance programming, quite simply, is expensive and production costs are not covered by ticket revenues alone. Your support is the foundation upon which we build our vision and our future. It is your personal involvement through annual contributions that allow us to offer:
• An affordable three event season filled with brilliant dancers, exciting choreography and dynamic performances.
• An Outreach Program that provides lecture/demonstrations and scholarships, a summer AIM program (Art in Motion) collaborative with visual artists, a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs to promote healthy families and ongoing development of programs for our inner-city and rural area youth.
• A pre-professional division of the Dance Center which conducts an intensive and structured nine-month program for serious students ages 11 and up.
• A Summer Dance Intensive that offers the highest quality instruction in all forms of dance with professional master dance faculty.
The Percentages
Production costs are not reflected in ticket prices. It is your personal involvement through membership dollars that puts performances on stage and provides educational outreach programs for our community.
• Ballet Spartanburg works hard for your money. We boast almost 60% earned income (this is far higher than most performing arts organizations).
• Ballet Spartanburg receives operating support from the Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg which funds approximately 15% of our budget.
